Abstract

The ICT have given rise to all sorts of digital tools which lend themselves to new areas of research seeking to deepen the understanding of e-learning and the way students build new virtual learning communities where their knowledge is integrated in unprecedented ways. Within this context, Moodle is one of the most widely used virtual learning environments in educational institutions, which as a consequence have witnessed a great enrichment of teacher-student interactions (Celik 2010). This new frame of work led members of the University of Salamanca Faculty of Education to propose an innovative pedagogical project aimed at using assessment in order to optimize the USAL Moodle Learning Management System (Studium) at the Department of Didactics, Organization and Research Methods.
