Abstract
This special thematic section arises with the objectives of showing and discussing the validity of a wide variety of mechanisms, instruments or practices capable of achieving real student participation in their evaluation. Under these purposes, an attempt has been made to provide a diversity of works that seek to encourage reflection in the educational community on an element of such relevance and transferability as evaluation and, specifically, on how and why to encourage the active participation of students in it.
