Abstract
Although methodological creativity is a source of progress in scientific disciplines, we can affirm that during its implementation process it is at the same time a source of confusion. Scientific controversies produced throughout the twentieth and early twentieth centuries around epidemiology are nurtured or stimulated by parallel debates in relation to the statistical techniques employed. Therefore, we should consider the epistemological challenges that call for the implementation of the results of epistemological creativity.
