LEARNING AND TRAINING COMMUNITIES FACULTY

Abstract

This paper tries to address four key questions. In first place, "What are learning communities, what are they based on and what educational practices do these centers carry out through their communities?" Following on from this, we ask if the initial training that future teachers receive includes content related the educational practices used in learning communities. We then analyze the possibilities for permanent training of teachers in this field, highlighting a specific example of collaboration between the University and teachers that brought about the development of two centers into learning communities. Finally this paper looks at the question, "What steps does an educational establishment have to go through in order to develop into a learning community?
