Abstract
Current capitalist and industrial lifestyle has serious consequences on ecosystems and people's health. Environmental Education is a strategic tool to confront the ecosocial crisis, and within that, Education for Environmental Justice aims to provide empowerment for action. Citizen Climate Assemblies have explored participation to address, through reflection and knowledge, the necessary transformations. In this study, between secondary school groups, urban and rural, are compared in terms of perceptions and proposals after a didactic sequence of Environmental Education, based on Education for Environmental Justice, on energy crisis and air pollution. The research has a mixed methodological approach, involving 85 secondary school classes in Alto Aragón (Spain). There were no significant differences between students from rural and urban areas, except regarding the commitment to use less polluting transport, more supported in urban transport. The students demand that the Government have general policies of significance; emphasizing they demand control of irresponsible activities. The most cited measures to face the challenges were being happy, buying organic and local and not using the car. Most proposals are related to some of those proposed by the Citizen Climate Assembly and would allow the ecosocial crisis to be faced in better conditions
