Curriculum Standpoint for Social Justice: Understanding the Politics of School Knowledge

Resumo
Este artigo conceitual defende a necessidade de entendermos a relação entre currículo e justiça social, em grande parte pelas lentes do que o autor chama de “ponto de vista curricular”. Esse enquadramento ajuda a definir o tecido conectivo de como o contexto social, cultural, institucional, econômico e político se manifesta na luta pelo conhecimento, incluindo qual conhecimento é enquadrado como senso comum e hegemônico por meio de coisas como livros didáticos, padrões estaduais e exames de alto risco – assim também implicava a consciência do aluno sobre o mundo. Baseando-se na Teoria do Ponto de Vista Feminista, este artigo argumenta, em última análise, que, se pudermos reconhecer plenamente até que ponto as relações sociais se manifestam no conhecimento escolar, também criaremos as condições para um exame crítico desse conhecimento, bem como as possibilidades para o desenvolvimento de maior consciência crítica sobre currículo e sociedade – detalhando assim a relação entre currículo e justiça social.Downloads
