Submission guidelines

Any author submitting a text to Revista Historia Autónoma declares that he/she has read, accepts and respects the conditions explained below.

Authors may freely submit research articles and reviews to the journal. In the case of reviews of scientific meetings, the suitability of the submission must have been previously consulted at the following email address: direccion.rha@gmail.com

Any work to be submitted to Revista Historia Autónoma must be submitted through the OJS platform through which the publication is managed. This can be accessed from the website https://revistas.uam.es/historiaautonoma, where specific instructions for submission can also be found. For more information on the formal aspects of the texts, please refer to the Format Guidelines.

The Editorial Assistant is committed to issue an acknowledgement of submission as soon as possible and will verify the documents sent. The journal will inform the authors of the decision on whether or not his/her word will be published within a maximum period of six months. During this period of time, the text cannot be sent to any other publication.

Authors must send the following documents:

- A version of his/her text in word format.

- A version of his/her text in pdf format. This copy must be anonymous, i.e. it must not contain the personal name of the author(s), no mention of their institutional affiliation or membership of research projects, and no explicit reference to works signed by them. All these measures are taken in order to guarantee the correct development of the peer review process.

- A brief curriculum vitae of the author(s), not exceeding ten lines in length.

- If applicable, a list of the bibliographical references contained in the text. The authors, prior to submission, should have checked whether or not the works cited have a DOI, which should be added whenever appropriate. To do this, we recommend following the instructions in the following document.

Illustrations and figures (images, graphics, charts, maps, etc) should be included in the file submitted, both in Word and PDF format, with the distribution that the author wants to appear on the text. Such distribution will be kept inasmuch as the design of the journal makes it possible. The illustrations and figures should be sent, additionally, in separated files in jpg format with a minimum resolution of 300 ppp, in a compressed file in zip or rar format. The illustrations on the papers should be free of rights of reproductions. Otherwise, the author of the paper will be the person who may be in charge of the corresponding payment.

Papers can be submitted in both Spanish and English. Only original and unpublished articles and reviews, which have not been published in other media or in other languages, will be accepted. Texts that are being evaluated in other journals may not be submitted. Likewise, the author may not submit a paper to other journals until Revista Historia Autónoma has given a negative response on the paper.

Reviews should contain a distinctive title, different from the analysed work.

Once the evaluation process of an article or review has been satisfactorily completed, the journal is committed to publish them during the two years following the moment of communicating the acceptance of the work to the author. These texts will be placed on a waiting list for publication, which will be resolved on a first-come, first-served basis at the discretion of the journal's Editorial Board. The author will be informed of the publication date as soon as it has been confirmed.

The Editorial Board of the journal may ask authors for modifications to their texts, either before or after submitting them to the peer review process. In all cases, a period of 15 calendar days from the date of notification by the Editorial Assistant will be granted to make such changes. This period may be extended, exceptionally, for another period of 15 calendar days, provided that the author requests it and gives adequate reasons. Unjustified failure to meet these deadlines will result in the cancellation of the work, regardless of the stage of evaluation in which it is at. In this case, if an author wishes to resubmit the same work, the evaluation process will start from the beginning.

Once acepted the works that will compose each number, a copy of each paper will be sent to the authors on a proof basis for spell checking. Under no circumstances, substantial changes will be allowed in content. The return of these proofs must be made no later than fifteen calendar days after the paper was sent.
