Résumé

L’article met en lumière l’anomalie que constitue à première vue la percée du cricket dans la région du Golfe. Il montre que ce sport, auparavant essentiellement pratiqué par les expatriés, a évolué dans les six pays du Conseil de coopération du Golfe (CCG). Aujourd’hui, le statut du cricket reflète la force et aussi la faiblesse de la communauté sud-asiatique dans le Golfe, et notamment celle de la diaspora indienne.La relation entre sport et diaspora reste un domaine peu étudié. L’article, qui analyse la relation entre cricket et diaspora dans le Golfe à l’aide de la méthode empirique et comparative, constitue donc un véritable apport à la littérature scientifique.
