Abstract

April 14, 2022 marked the centenary of the birth of Jacinto Bosch Vilá, Professor of Islamic History at the University of Granada. A group of disciples decided to pay homage to him in an event that took place in the Aula García Lorca of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Granada on May 31, 2022.

The homage of his disciples, who wrote their undergraduate and doctoral thesis under his direction, sought to honor and remember his leading figure in the development of an academic field that today, almost fifty years after his death, has managed to become established in the Spanish academia, giving the University of Granada a position of excellence in Arab and Islamic studies in our country.
