Abstract

In order to meet the expectations of the National Standards for Head teachers, and of the communities they serve, school leaders must not only provide leadership within their school but they must also build capacity for interdependent relationships and develop leadership capacity beyond the school gates. In this paper we outline how the National College for School Leadership’s (NCSL) ‘Community Leadership Network’ has developed in response to local issues and national policy.
