Abstract

Updating teachers of English as a foreign language (TEFL) in the high school system of the UNAM has become an essential issue due to the great need of having teachers wit a better background in the TEFL area. Hence the developing of programs such as the PAAS, is fundamental to update English teachers.
The PAAS program consist of 2,000 hours of work which are distributed in a Diploma in TEFL a five-week stay at McGill University (in Montreal, Canada) and several courses; all of them aimed to the integral updating of academic leaders who will be responsible of encouraging and developing academic projects and team work in the schools where they work.
