Abstract

This is a study based on the results of the Entrance Examination in the Madrid Autónoma University for 1989-1992, in what are generally known as the «Arts» options. I present a comparative analysis of the means of the students' marks, as well as of the results of each subject individually, including the obligatory subjects which are common ro all the oplions. I consider the effects of these results on the final mark. In the paper I interpret the demand for Arts subjects and its relation to the number of places offered. Finally I include a reflection on the meaning of the presence of Arts subjects in the Entrante Examinations.
