Abstract

Introduction: Music used as therapy has been used since ancient times and possible benefits of the application of music therapy as a complementary therapy are being observed. Objective: to reflect on the possible benefits of music therapy as a complementary therapy, after carrying out a bibliographic search. Method: simply bibliographic search. Based on the results of the investigations, a description is developed in a reflective way about the benefits of this therapy. Results and Development: Improvements are being observed in the cognitive-perceptive pattern of people with dementia, improvements in patients with acute or chronic pain, or in painful invasive procedures. Conclusion: It is necessary to promote its application and delve into further research to be used as a nursing intervention.
