Michel Foucault par lui même

Abstract

The documentary "Michel Foucault by himself" introduces a new format in the Documents section of the Journal. We have chosen it because we think it is particularly interesting in the context of this issue, introducing us to some of the main ideas of one of the most influential and original thinkers of the 20th century. In it, Michel Foucault proposes, among other things, studying spaces, and calls this new science heterotopia. In his works, he analyzed numerous institutions and spaces, the way in which they function and reflect certain rationality of power relations, and this documentary summarizes his approach well.
