Abstract

In 1920 the Colombian Poet Porfirio Barba Jacob rewrote the poem “Tragedias en la obscuridad” and tittle it “Acuarimantima”. The written process happened at the Palace of the Nunciature, where the word “Acuarimantima” sprouted as magic. The place and all that happened around the new version of the poem is the purpose of this biographical research. Several artists participated in the multiple gatherings in which alleged spiritualistic phenomena occurred. This environment propitiated the creative dynamics of the emergence of “Acuarimantima” besides representing the Mexican bohemia of the twenties.
