Abstract

This study analyzes the importance of the critic Joaquín Marco (1935-2020) in the evolution of the Spanish literary field, especially in the years in which his activity was more intense and productive (the last ten of francoism), years in which he developed a militant criticism with a strong republican sense that implied the defense and promotion in Spain of three non-hegemonic literatures from the socio-political point of view: the Latin American literature, the literature of the Spanish exile and the Catalan literature. To this should be added his facet as editor of both the Ocnos poetry collection and the RTV Books collection, a fundamental experiment in literary market in the years prior to the Democratic Transition.
