LA EDUCACIÓN EN LAS POLÍTICAS DE INTEGRACIÓN DE LOS ESTADOS MIEMBROS DE LA UNIÓN EUROPEA

Formal education plays a very important role in personal and professional development, especially in the lives of migrants who face different challenges in host societies. Integration policies in countries address this area, but sometimes they fail to meet the educational needs of migrant students and/or approach it with a more assimilationist rather than inclusive focus. In line with this, the main objective of this research is to understand the state of educational integration policies in the context of the European Union. To achieve this, a predominantly qualitative content analysis has been conducted on the results obtained by the EU27 countries in the fifth edition of the Migrant Integration Policy Index regarding the education area. The results reveal that, although there have been improvements in recent years in this area, it continues to be one of the most neglected in integration policies of countries.
