Abstract
We will be establishing a specific parallelism, which does not pretend to be exhaustive, between the notions of showing (“zeigen”) and of looking after (mainly put it in terms of “schonen” and “pflegen”), which respectively played a central role in the works of two of the most important figures in 20th-century philosophy, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Martin Heidegger. In order to do this, we will place the terms in the philosophies of both thinkers, paying attention not only to what they wrote, but also to the way in which they proceeded.
