Abstract
We want to contribute to the debate over the subjectivity in the Modern period with an interpretation of this aspect in the novel La Regenta. By the analysis of the construction of a main character in this novel we show how the several discourses we make about ourselves are essentials in our subjectivity. We call these discourses: voices. Voices that come from the world around us and that have to be integrated in one subjectivity like melodies of a complex symphony.
