Abstract
In the second half of the XVII Century, lots of secondary painters helped to give a stylistic unit to the Baroque painting of Madrid. Despite this, their names are not well known due the lack of conserved work. Antonio and Baltasar de Castrejón, father and son, both share this situation. Through new signed and dated creations, their roles in the development of the Baroque in Madrid is reconsidered. For example and in the case of Antonio, a beautiful portrait of Mrs. María Josefa Antonia Rodríguez de los Ríos, daughter of the 1st. Marquis of Santiago, great collector and merchandise in the Madrid of those days.
