Francisco Rizi y Claudio Coello: a propósito de la anécdota de Palomino sobre el Retablo de la Parroquia de Santa Cruz de Madrid

Abstract

The object of this article is to establish some enquiries about Madrilenean pictures in the middle XVII century, which will probably never be solved satisfactorily. Francisco Rizi, Claudio Coello and Antonio Palomino joined round about the Retable at Santa Cruz of Madrid's Parisch Church, promote some doubts and suspicions on their professional behaviours, taking as first point their own works, documents and the critical historiography.
