Abstract
The article approaches the literary analysis of the story Those Who Went to the Hazelnut Forest, by the deceased Cuban author Rufo Caballero Mora, a film critic who in 2009 finally debuted in fiction. With a literary work focused until then on the exercise of aesthetic criteria and the essay, the Cuban author made an old artistic and recreational desire come true, that of venturing into narrative. Without changing too much the stylistic register of his literary discourse or giving up the application of the hermeneutic method that defined him as an author, Rufo Caballero rewrites a very well-known history of cinema, which he retells with the intention of providing it with new possible meanings, prolonging in this case not only the plot but also the resolution of the dramatic conflict, not only of the novella but above all of the film of the same name, The Bridges of Madison, written by Robert James Waller and adapted to film by the American actor and director Clint Eastwood.
