Abstract

In front of the rapidly aging of the population, it´s necessary to consider a number of new challenges around citizenship rights of the elderly, especially those who are related to social participation across education. The research expose the social stereotypes of old age that elder people participating in Aula de Mayores “Ciudad de Granada” show; un function of socio demographic variables. It´s applied the "Evaluation Questionnaire of Negative Stereotypes of Aging" (CENVE in Spanish) to 52 Aula’s members. This elder people generally present positive images of old age, tending towards a more stereotypical view, only in the case of some socio demographic variables related to the vulnerability of the elderly.
