Abstract
This paper proposes a way for applying argumentation theory to classical epistemological problems, based on a new treatment of the sceptical arguments. First, we give a classification of sceptical arguments. Second, we take one of them, and we show how to treat it not just as one (valid or invalid) argument, but as a pattern that can be cogent or fallacious depending on the context of argumentation. Finally, we propose a strategy for questioning and eventually founding or rejecting an epistemic system.
Keywords: Argumentation, fallacy, G. E. Moore, epistemic justification, possibility, skepticism.
