Keywords:

This article addresses the issue of the emotional factor in argumentation within the framework of the new rhetoric proposed by Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca in the work The New Rhetoric: A Treatise on Argumentation. Specifically, we will refer to the issue of emotions in relation to the notion of internal audience or deliberation with oneself. We will try to observe the incidence of the emotional factor within this particular idea of the audience that the authors propose. The objective is to investigate how internal deliberation is possible and in what way we can speak of an emotional influence in the dialogue with oneself.
