Diferencias de género en la tolerancia al pago de sobornos: un análisis de mecanismos causales

Resumen

El análisis de las diferencias de género en la tolerancia al pago de sobornos ha ganado interés desde hace pocos años. Si bien se ha intentado entender por qué las mujeres tienden a tolerar menos la corrupción a pequeña escala que los hombres, aún no hay respuestas concluyentes. En este trabajo se analizaron los efectos de seis variables a través de un Modelo de Ecuaciones Estructurales, en el que se utilizaron datos de 60 países de la sexta edición de la World Values Survey (2010-2014). Con un grado de ajuste parcial, el modelo demostró que la aversión al riesgo es la única variable estadísticamente significativa que permitiría explicar por qué las mujeres justifican menos el pago de sobornos que los hombres, si bien deben entenderse las limitaciones del estudio y analizar los resultados con el cuidado de no perpetuar los estereotipos de género.
