Los ladridos de la OTAN a las puertas de Rusia

Resumen

La invasión militar de Ucrania lanzada por el presidente Putin en febrero de 2022 ha dado actualidad a una controversia añeja sobre quién es el responsable de las tensiones crecientes, desde 1992, entre Rusia, los Estados Unidos y Europa. Moscú acusa a la OTAN y a su expansión y tiene defensores occidentales que la consideran como una provocación injustificada. No comparten ese diagnóstico los que piensan que los acontecimientos han justificado el temor que los vecinos de Rusia tenían de lo que interpretan como neoimperialismo. Moscú ve en el apoyo occidental a movimientos democráticos en el ex-espacio soviético un complot contra Rusia y habla de «guerra civilizacional». Se enfrentan dos lecturas radicalmente opuestas de los mismos acontecimientos: El Oeste ve sus intervenciones militares contra Serbia como «humanitarias», mientras que Moscú se siente profundamente agraviada por la «agresión» contra un hermano eslavo y ortodoxo. La guerra en Ucrania confirma y radicaliza los puntos de vista.
