Una revisión de la literatura académica: 20 años de la política exterior del gobierno del Partido de la Justicia y el Desarrollo (AKP) en Turquía

Resumen
El siguiente texto lleva a cabo una revisión de la literatura académica centrada en la política exterior del AKP en el periodo 2002-2022 con el objeto de contextualizar el contenido del monográfico especial “Turquía: repertorios de cooperación y conflicto en el Mediterráneo oriental y la región MENA”.
El monográfico se centra en abordar los repertorios de actuación de Turquía en el ámbito de su política exterior, muy especialmente durante episodios contenciosos, pero no sólo, con terceros Estados. Con el objeto de contextualizar las relaciones bilaterales objeto de análisis, el presente artículo recoge las principales tendencias en la política exterior turca de los últimos años, con las que enmarcar y explicar el contexto en el que se producirán dichas relaciones, así como el recurso a diferentes herramientas de poder político en la arena internacional.
Esta visión panorámica permite ahondar en la dirección y alcance de unas relaciones exteriores que han experimentado transformaciones sustanciales en los últimos años. El artículo se centra en los textos que han propuesto una caracterización por etapas de la política exterior del AKP, plantea en detalle la génesis y el debate en torno a los conceptos de neo-otomanismo y euroasianismo comúnmente utilizados para explicar diferentes momentos de la política exterior turca, y cierra con un epígrafe destinado a las herramientas de poder duro, poder blando y de diplomacia coercitiva utilizadas por el partido en el poder.
