Resumen
El Movimiento Anticonfesional libanés constituyó un ejemplo genuino de movilización social capaz de lograr una notable presencia entre la juventud urbana libanesa, promoviendo una transformación radical de un sistema político confesional que suponía un obstáculo insuperable para su democratización. Pero esta movilización fracasó debido especialmente al impacto de la crisis siria y a la manipulación de las tensiones confesionales por parte de los líderes libaneses, demostrando su gran capacidad para bloquear cualquier reforma profunda del sistema político.

The Lebanese Anti-Sectarian Movement
Abstract
The Lebanese Anti-Sectarian Movement constituted a genuine example of social mobilization which attained a paramount presence among the Lebanese urban youth, fostering a radical transformation of the confessional political system which implied an unsurmountable obstacle for its democratization. But this mobilization mainly failed due to the impact of the Syrian crisis and the manipulation of sectarian tensions by the Lebanese leaders who demonstrated their ability to block any deep reform of the political system.
