The Bronze Age Stela of Negrões – isolated in the crowd

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to publish a new Bronze Age stele and the circumstances of its discovery in the municipality of Castro Verde. This new “diademed” or “headdress” stela appears in the middle of Alentejan?type stelae region, alongside with the Iron Age Southwest Iberia writing stelae, fitting into a region with a long tradition of these landscape markers.
