This article focuses on the study of a group of finds from the Siret Collection that today are kept at the Museo Nazionale Preistorico Etnografico "L. Pigorini" in Rome, and which had been considered lost for many decades. Almost all of the relevant objects belong to the El Argar culture, a Bronze Age culture in southeast Spain, and came to the Pigorini Museum through an exchange with the Musées Royaux des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels, later renamed the Musée du Cinquantenaire, and forming part of the Musèes Royaux D’Art et d’Histoire in Brussels. Unfortunately, the information available at the Pigorini Museum on the specific archaeological contexts of the relevant objects for the most part is incomplete. Only the sites where the objects were found are recorded, while the exact find contexts are not documented, and even the provenance information at site level is not always reliable. Fortunately, some of the objects were documented in a catalogue published by the Siret brothers towards the end of the 19th century, facilitating their identification. Alongside the typological study of the objects, archaeometallurgical analytical was carried out on a selected group of 14 objects, aimed at defining their chemical composition. Three metal objects were also subject to lead isotope analysis, in order to determine the possible origin of the raw material used in their manufacture. According to the provenance information available at the Pigorini Museum, all of the sampled objects come from the site of El Argar.
