Limonium perplexum L. Sáez & Rosselló has two localities of natural character in the coastal cliffs of the Sierra de Irta, Peñíscola (Comunitat Valenciana). Since 2009 it has been protected by the Generalitat Valenciana and in 2011 it was included in the Spanish Catalogue of Threatened Species, in both cases in the highest category of threat (‘In Danger of Extinction’). Although its recovery plan was published in 2015 the conservation work on the species began many years earlier. Protocols were developed for germination, conservation in a germplasm bank, nursery cultivation and planting in the wild. The objective of the recovery plan is to reduce the threat category according to three parameters: number of individuals, number of populations and number of UTM 1x1km squares with presence of the species. From 2018 to 2022 the objective of the plan has been met.
