Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The text has had the authors' names removed. If an author is cited, "Author" and year are used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of author's name, paper title, etc.

Author Guidelines

CHIMERA requires that authors adhere to bibliographic and research paper formatting requirements according to the style guides. If their submissions are accepted, then authors will be required to format their articles or book reviews according to the CHIMERA templates if that has not already been done. The template for articles can be downloaded by clicking HERE (docx) and HERE (pdf).

Research papers should be between 5,000 and 10,000 words (including references). Short papers and reviews should be between 2,000 and 4,000 words.

Currently, CHIMERA requires that all submissions are made in any Romance language or in English.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

    1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

    1. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

  1. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
