Abstract
This paper presents a research on Brazilian Portuguese second-person pronoun forms cê/ocê/você. Our aim is to propose a new methodology for studying the functional properties of these forms based on the acoustic analysis of spontaneous speech data from the C-ORAL-BRASIL corpus (Raso & Mello 2012). We propose that the possible cliticization and the functional properties of these forms must be assessed through prosodic and distributional, rather than syntactic, criteria.Downloads
