About the Journal

Focus and Scope

CHIMERA is a peer-reviewed journal with an international scope, publishing a wide range of corpus-based studies on Romance languages.

The aim of the journal is the international distribution of theoretical and appliied researches with a remarkable scientific quality, featuring innovative approaches in the analysis of Romance languages. CHIMERA also intends to promote a stronger connection among the academic communities of the Romance languages speaking countries in Europe and overseas.

CHIMERA accepts original articles focusing on the analysis of both spoken and written corpora from different theoretical perspectives and about all areas of linguistic research. The journal also publishes reviews regarding books, corpora (accounting for resource building initiatives and innovative annotation practices) and tools for the corpus analysis.

CHIMERA publishes works written in Romance languages as well as in English.

Peer Review Process

After the editors check the submission for completeness and appropriateness (e.g. topic, length), they send it to two external peer-reviewers for double-blind peer review. Editors will write a report based on the peer reviews received accepting/rejecting the submission. Peer reviews can be expected within 6-8 weeks of submission.

Open Access Policy

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
