Abstract

This essay describes contexts that jointed humanities and power in History. Two specific examples of this situation are located in 16th and 17th centuries. We stop on this period because here it is discovered a backward movement of intellectual progression of Political Philosophy. The highly developed arguments used in Machiavelli´s The prince (1516) go back in moralist works written by authors like Francisco de Quevedo. Our article compares both texts and it will take a third mirror: the daily routine of Quevedo´s model, we mean, Earl-Duke of Olivares. This ?three visions? game will show us how Olivares will learn from Quevedo and how his biography will seem to be nearer from The prince than El buscon`s author, too.
