Abstract
This paper deals with the conflict that arises between ethics and rationality in the context of social relations. With this aim, I will try to account for the shortcomings of rationality and I will defend that it is necessary to go beyond its limits with the concept of indirect rationality. After explaining the potential of moral and political measures I will conclude by advocating for the defense of institutional and political intervention in the minimum amount necessary to cover the gaps left by the absence of ethical behavior.
