Abstract

In 1970 the engineer and robot designer Masahiro Mori developed an original
and controversial hypothesis on the optimal future of the relationship between
users and the would-be every day realistic anthropomorphic machines. Mori
had detected an aversive psychological
effect on human beings in the presence
of highly human-resemblant androids.
Known as Uncanny Valley, the effect
seems to be related with an ontological
conflict in the decisive use and identificacion of categories of functionally autonomous and autonomously expressive units.
