Abstract

This work presents the philosophical reflections developed by Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez on the problem of Spain, reconstructed here through his biography. To show both the evolution as well as the consistency of his principal preoccupations throughout his life, we enact a comparative exercise between some texts he wrote before his exile in 1939 and some he composed during his intellectual maturity as a professor emeritus in México. In sum, we try to show how Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez gave form to his own vision of the human condition and the concrete problems of existence, through his concern for the historical and political problem of Spain.
