Abstract
This work analyses one of the most important figures of the Valencian aristocracy during the 19th Century and his social and artistic promotion in Madrid towards the end of this century. the article focuses on the press reviews which describe his heritage and show his power and distinction against the “old aristocracy”, who struggled in order to keep their status in face of the rising new-wealthy bourgeois, like our Marquis, José Campo.
