Abstract

The article includes 13 paintings signed, documented or attributed to various artists from XVIIth Spanish century -some of them very well known as Carreño, Mateo Cerezo, Escalante or Valdés Leal. Another less noted as could be Félix Castelo, Luis Fernandez, Diego López or Juan de Sevilla. The last is author of a couple of allegories of high iconographic interest. As well as the three pictures by Valdés, the "Saint Joan" signed by Castelo at 1647, la "Purísima" of 1666 by Escalante or the small but infrequent Cerezo "el joven". Finally the "Portait of Charles II" considered in the Prado as by Coello is reattributed to Lucas Giordano.
