Abstract
The present article is the product of the find of a drawing of a device that joined to other references make allusion to the creation and development of the convent of San Felipe el Real in Madrid. In these documents we find, in one hand, the character of Prince Felipe as the promote and the prior Fray Alonso de Madrid as the client, and on the other hand, Gaspar de Vega as the responsible of the construction. This fact tells us about the interest of the future King in architecture. This interest was present during all his life. All that has informed us when the relationship between Felipe II and the royal master began. And finally, these notes have permitted to identify and date the drawing of the anonymous device.
