Abstract
Some of the most important sculptures exhibited in the Spanish Pavilion, on the occasion of the five universal exhibitions held in Paris between 1855 and 1900, were made by scholarship-holders in Rome. This article confronts different models and collects French and Italian criticism mainly, in order to inquire the meaning and the consequences of this transfer of pieces from Rome to Paris.
