Abstract
Guerrilla fighters, bandits and political partisans are rarely connected. Although their moral role is different, of course, they have a coincident aspect in Romantic imagery: all of them seem to expose a subconscious fascination towards a marginal fight, especially in images. Their behavior is interpreted as a natural tendency for freedom. Nevertheless, when romantic ideals decline, or when images have an official use, some iconographic aspects, initially attractive, change their meaning.
