Abstract

At the beginning of the XVIth century, the foreign artists’ work was decisive to fund the Renaissance sculpture in Spain. The "Virgin with a Child" (c. 1525-1531), which is at Museo Catredralicio Diocesano of León, is a good example of it. This study analyses the artistic and cultural context in which this clay sculpture was made, its different locations into the Cathedral of León, the chapter of León's patronage as well as the study of Pietro Torrigiano and Miguel Perin as its possible sculptors
