Abstract
In this work we approach a new reading of the constructive process of the extension of to the al-Hakam II in the mosque of Cordova. Basing on the Arabic texts, we propose a more detailed chronology for the different phases in which there went configured the "oratory" and the "maqsuras" of the caliph. Finally, we do an iconographic interpretation of the section that precedes the mihrab.
