Abstract
Between 1683 and 1694 a colorful marble altarpiece was projected for the sevillian Royal Chapel, and was selected for, a design by the altarpiece architect Bernardo Simón de Pineda. The archbishop Jaime de Palafox was the main driver and patron, who had previously been at Palermo’s archdiocese. The best evidence of the project range, was the demand of raports and designs to Giovanni Battista Contini, in Rome, and to the architect Angelo Italia and the engineer Scipione Basta, in Palermo, who check and raport the ideas coming from Seville. The stock lack made it unobtanible.
