A microbiological attack on iron objects from the Iberian period: interdisciplinary research, intervention and preventive conservation project

The present work includes the documentary research, study, restoration and conditioning of a collection of iron tools from the Iberian period from the site of Bastida de les Alcusses (Moixent, Valencia). These objects were discovered in excavations carried out between 1928?1931, and were restored before the mid 20th century. Preserved in the reserve room of the Museum of Prehistory of Valencia, they have recently developed a microbiological attack that has led to a series of conservation and restoration works.
