Este proceso se ha seguido contra trece médicos del Servicio de Urgencias del citado hospital. Los citados facultativos fueron imputados por el delito de homicidio por imprudencia médica, por haber administrado sedativos a quince pacientes terminales que fallecieron en el referido Servicio en el periodo comprendido entre septiembre de 2003 y marzo de 2005<em>. </em>Este proceso ha finalizado tras casi tres años de instrucción con auto definitivo de archivo de fecha de 21 de enero de 2008. El daño producido a la medicina pública y a la sociedad tardará mucho tiempo en repararse.</p><p><strong>Palabras clave: </strong>irregularidad procesal, imprudencia médica, sedación, intereses políticos, auto de archivo.</p><p><strong>Abstract: </strong></p><p>The goal of this writing is to analyse the procedural irregularities of the so-called <em>case of the sedations of Hospital Severo Ochoa in Leganés, </em>in the region of Madrid. These proceedings were initiated against thirteen doctors of the Urgencies of that Hospital who were charged with medical manslaughter. The prosecution was based on the fact that they had administered to fifteen terminal patients staying in the above mentioned Urgencies a sedative causing their death in the period between September 2003 and March 2005. The case has concluded after almost three years of preliminary investigations with an <em>auto de archivo </em>(dismissal) issued on 21 January 2008.
