Abstract

This article analyses Lebanon’s socio-political system from the perspective of memory studies. We try to prove that the conflict between memories and identities in Lebanon is at the base of the continuing conflicts since the socio-political system is based on the identity divisions in the country. This topic can be found in every aspect of the social system, one particularly clear example being the organisation of the education and the teaching of history in schools. This has become a great problem for an efficient appeasement of Lebanon.
